TACK Introduces Robotic Arm Automation to Boost Precision in Undercarriage Parts Machining

TACK, a manufacturer specializing in undercarriage wheels and rollers for bulldozers and combine harvesters, has recently introduced a joint industrial robotic arm into its machining workshop. The move marks a significant step in the company’s ongoing transition toward intelligent, automated manufacturing.
The robotic arm is installed among three CNC lathes, where it performs automatic loading and unloading of workpieces throughout the machining process. After an operator places a raw part at the feed position, the robot grips it, inserts it into the lathe, and waits for cutting to finish. It then removes the completed component and loads the next piece, keeping three machines running continuously without manual intervention.
By taking over repetitive and physically demanding handling tasks, the new equipment reduces labor intensity and allows workers to concentrate on quality inspection and process control. The robot also provides highly repeatable positioning, which keeps dimensional tolerances stable from the first workpiece to the last. Since the automated cell can operate around the clock, overall equipment utilization improves and delivery schedules become more reliable.
For customers, the upgrade translates into undercarriage wheels and rollers with tighter, more consistent machining accuracy, a key factor in wear resistance and service life under heavy working conditions in the field.
This investment reflects TACK’s broader commitment to upgrading production technology. Moving forward, the company will continue to introduce advanced automation equipment and refine its manufacturing processes, aiming to deliver undercarriage solutions that combine dependable quality with competitive lead times for customers around the world.
